Dior galore
This is quite the flashback but it has to be done. I’ll be taking you back in time to December 29, 2017, when one of my best friends and I attended the Christian Dior Exhibit presented by Holt Renfrew at the Royal Ontario Museum. The exhibit was open for only a few months and we jumped at the opportunity when we heard about it. Together, my fellow fashion enthusiast and I catapulted ourselves downtown and spent the day marveling at the display!
The exhibit reinforced my love of fashion, especially couture. Seeing each garment up close and the detail that went into them blew me away. I can only imagine how much thought, care, and attention to detail went into each piece. Ever since that day, I’ve had a tremendous amount of respect for the precision and dedication that goes into the making of clothing. The individuals we don’t see, the craftsmen and artisans, who work tirelessly to create and deliver a perfect garment, turn beautiful dreams into a reality.
In this post, I will share with you photos I took at the exhibit, including some of Christian Dior’s most iconic and beautiful designs. The history of the House of Dior and its legacy is a fascinating one. I hope to capture even a tiny portion of Dior’s brilliance through these photos.
Enjoy!
“Colour is what gives jewels their worth. They light up and enhance the face. Nothing is more elegant than a black skirt and sweater worn with a sparkling multi-stoned necklace.”
– Christian dior
“You can never take too much care over the choice of your shoes. Too many women think that they are unimportant, but the real proof of an elegant woman is what is on her feet.”

Long after one has forgotten what a woman wore, the memory of her perfume lingers.
All eyes were on this next ensemble. I mean… look at it!! The classic print, the buttons down the center, the belt cinching the waist, and the leather gloves make the entire outfit look so sophisticated and chic. I captured this moment of my friend taking it all in lol!
“Black is the most slimming of all colors. It is the most flattering. You can wear black at any time. You can wear it at any age. You can wear it for almost any occasion. I could write a book about black.”
– christian dior
“The world is wonderfully full of beautiful women whose shapes and tastes offer an inexhaustible diversity. My collection must cater to each one of them.”
– christian dior
“To see a collection of Dior’s dresses…gives one the pleasure of watching a romantic and spectacular pageant…Dior creates a brilliant nostalgia.”
– Cecil beaton
Thanks for making it all the way to the end! I hope you enjoyed this collection of photos. Click here to watch this behind the scenes clip I found of the Christian Dior exhibit, courtesy of the Royal Ontario Museum!
Have an amazing day <3
