As Iβm sitting on my front porch, the breeze cooling my body as the sun stamps it with intense heat, I canβt help but think of the word home.Β
Today is Earth Day – which I admittedly forgot about until I scrolled past a few Instagram posts throughout the day.
Home is a universal word, translated into dozens of languages. Yet it holds such a unique and profound meaning for each of us. Whether home is a place, a person, or a thing, there is something that grounds usβ¦ brings us comfortβ¦ and allows us to let all our walls down.Β
Home, to me, feels like a long, deep breath β the kind where you let out an βahhhh..β as your eyes gently close.
On this globally recognized day to celebrate the Earth, Iβm grateful that there is a place on it for each of us β a place where we can belong, breathe, and feel at home.
Sometimes, it seems as though thereβs more chaos than peace β and maybe thereβs truth to that. But letβs not lose sight of those still moments β if weβre privileged enough to have them β where we can pause, slow down, and breathe.
Look around you today. Feel the ground youβre standing on, and the air that surrounds you.
Thereβs so much life where you are β and even more to discover, if youβre curious enough. βοΈ
